PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that it is joining USA Hockey and the National Hockey League to celebrate Hockey Weekend Across America on Feb. 13-15.

Sponsored by Reebok, the three-day celebration of the sport was created by USA Hockey, the national governing body for the sport of ice hockey in the United States. Each of the three days has a theme with "Wear Your Jersey To School/Work Day" on Feb. 13, "Bring A Friend To The Rink Day" on Feb. 14 and "Celebrate Local Hockey Heroes" on Feb. 15.

Eighteen of the 20 ECHL teams in the United States are offering special ticket packages that include a donation being made to USA Hockey. Participating teams are Alaska, Bakersfield, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Dayton, Elmira, Florida, Gwinnett, Idaho, Johnstown, Mississippi, Ontario, Phoenix, Reading, Stockton, Trenton, Utah and Wheeling. "We encourage all of our fans to help celebrate the weekend by not only taking in a game but by introducing a friend to hockey."

There are 25 games scheduled in the ECHL during the three days and commemorative pucks will be used in ceremonial puck drops to celebrate the event. The ECHL has nine games in eight states on Friday and Saturday and seven games in seven states on Sunday.
